The Dartford club is run by Sensei Jim Kerkham, 7th dan black belt in Ju Jitsu.
We aim to teach students the skills and discipline of a Samurai.

Shihan Jim Kerkham
7th Dan
Jim started his Ju Jitsu career in 1987 at the Gillingham Club under Sensei Roger Wilkes. He gained his black belt in 1991 working his way up to 4th Dan in 2003 and in recognition of his 25 years service to the Association was awarded his 5th Dan in 2009, promoted to 6th Dan in 2015 and further promoted to 7th Dan in 2022
Jim is an NVQ level 2 qualified coach and has been teaching and running various clubs since 1991 currently running the Dartford and Strood Clubs
Gravesend Club
The Gravesend club is run by Sensei David Haddell, 6th dan black belt

Shihan David Haddell
6th Dan
Dave started his Ju Jitsu career in 1991 at the Strood Club under Sensei Roger Wilkes. He gained his black belt in 1995 working his way up to 4th Dan in 2007 and in recognition of his 25 years service to the Association was awarded his 5th Dan in 2016 and promoted to 6th Dan in 2022.
An NVQ level 2 qualified coach and has been teaching and running various clubs since 1995
Bognor Regis Club
The West Sussex club is run by Sensei Sid Martin, 5th dan black belt and Sensei Phil Moore, 2nd dan black belt.

Renshi Sid Martin
5th Dan
Sid Started his Ju Jitsu career in 1980 with the English Ju Jitsu association with Sensei Alan Clarkin in Lancashire but after being made redundant moved to Kent. In September 1986 joined Hanshi Roger Wilkes at Kyushin Ryu Ju Jitsu in Gravesend starting back at White Belt working his way to 1st Dan in 1991, In 1993 he moved to Bognor Regis, looking for another Ju Jitsu club to train with no success so decided to start a club of his own, thus the birth of Kyushin Ryu Ju Jitsu West Sussex
Maidstone / Midkent Club
The MidKent club is run by Sensei Simon Long and Sensei Mark Simpson, both of whom hold 5th dan black belts in Ju Jitsu.
Training sessions for Juniors and Seniors are held at Detling Village Hall, Detling, near Maidstone. The atmosphere of the club is very friendly and new members are always welcome. Although the primary focus is on teaching traditional Japanese Ju Jitsu, there is also coverage of Ground-fighting, Atemi Jitsu (strikes) and Kobudo (traditional weapons)

Family Night
The combined Senior and Junior class on Tuesdays is also our 'family night' as it is an opportunity for family members to train at the same time. A great way for parents and children to share a common interest!

Renshi Simon Long
5th Dan
Simon started training in Ju Jitsu at Mote Park in Maidstone at the age of 14 in 1991 under the then 4th Dan Sensei and Founder Roger Wilkes.
Continuing training whilst at University for 3 years. Simon attained his 1st Dan in 1998 and subsequently took over the club from Sensei Wilkes.
Now a 5th Dan and having close to 25 years coaching experience Simon is an adept instructor with a wealth of knowledge to share.
Renshi Mark Simpson
5th Dan
Mark started his Ju Jitsu journey in 1989 at the age of 12 years old, under the teaching of Sensei Peter Blackwell attaining his 1st Dan in 1995. He took over Larkfield club in 2002.
Now a 5th Dan with over 25 years as an instructor, Mark is an excellent coach and practitioner of Ju Jitsu with first class motivational skills on the mat.
Littlehampton Club
The Littlehampton club is run by Sensei Sid Martin, 5th dan black belt and Sensei Phil Moore, 2nd dan black belt.

4th Dan
Ernie started his Ju Jitsu career in 1995 at Hoo club, attaining his Black Belt in 2002, working up to 3rd Dan by 2010. Ernie is currently running Hoo Club
Ernie is an NVQ qualified coach and in common with all KRJJA club coaches, Ernie is First Aid Qualified and DBS certificated to teach children and vulnerable adults.
